The U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan addressed the crisis in American Education on PBS’s Need to Know with Jon Meacham. Amid harsh state budget cuts and low achievement rankings of American students, Duncan has a promising message: “How do we use a budget crisis to be more productive, become more efficient? Maybe stop doing things that weren’t working and more in a different direction. Some folks are being extraordinarily creative, extraordinarily thoughtful, and continue to move forward in tough budget times.”
