Video increasingly important in education

WGBY’s Video Lending Library is a free resource of more than 2000 video titles of an educational nature, many that apply directly to the Massachusetts Curriculum frameworks. But video can play an even greater role in the classroom. Communication has changed, and students and educators are increasingly using video technologies in all aspects of education. Knowing how to produce, edit, and distribute video gives high school and college graduates a valuable and much-in-demand skill. School systems also are increasingly using video on their web sites to keep parents informed about school events—and many educators are using video to bring lessons alive for their students.

Video in the Classroom is an online resource for teachers to explore digital storytelling and how it might contribute to the classroom experience.  Creator Matthew Needleman provides film examples, basic instruction, and a blog with support resources.
