Online learning is picking up momentum nationwide, and at a recent online International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) webinar, experts offered advice for school leaders who hope to begin their own online or blended learning programs.
Chris Rapp, a consultant who works with schools around the country, outlined four key components for a successful program:
- Content — knowing educational goals, course content and structure
- Teaching — teachers are important elements in any successful program
- Technology — work with school technologist so system works with programs
- Operations — the importance of communicating with all involved, including school administration, and taking a realistic look at the cost of the program over its useful life
