Technology defies the boundaries of human perception. From photomicrography to astrophotography, size and distance are no longer barriers, and through slow-mo and time lapse, we are allowed to see time and humanity in a new light. Through our curiosity and thirst for the unknown, the beauty of the universe can now be explored beyond the limits of the naked eye. Through PBS Off Book‘s recent episode “Seeing Beyond the Human Eye” some of this really cool technology is demonstrated.
Off Book is just one online series that makes up the PBS Arts initiative. PBS Arts aims to spark a resurgence of the arts in the United States, helping to make all Americans more aware that the arts are accessible to everyone and ensuring that all Americans understand that the arts are not only for them but also about them. PBS believes the arts enrich the human spirit, create vibrant and healthy communities and should be available to everyone — regardless of their circumstances — to experience and enjoy.
