On September 6, 2013, the Flipped Learning Network™ will host the first “Flip Your Classroom Day: A Global Initiative.” On Flipped Day 9/6, educators across the globe will take a pledge to flip one lesson to experience flipped learning, possibly leading to further flipped units or an entire flipped course!  To learn more, click here.

Lessons from PBS LearningMedia’s Middle School Literacy Initiative are perfect for flipping. To make it even easier for teachers, here’s a prepared lesson and some support material especially for Flipped Day. In Character Conflict:  Language Immersion, a sample flip-able middle school literacy lesson, students meet Moises, a fictional young immigrant who struggles with English, while exploring internal and external character conflict through media and literacy activities.
