Discover Poetry Everywhere

Poetry can be found wherever we are fully present, but April — Poetry Month — is a good time to share the video segments available from the PBS Poetry Everywhere series.   I just had to pull myself away from selections by Lucille Clifton, Walt Whitman, and Emily Dickinson (and a poet new to me whom I hope to share with you on Mother’s Day).   These segments allow you and students to feel the power of language, see the world’s wonder, and build reading and writing skills. WGBH and David Grubin Productions, in association with the Poetry Foundation, undertook this project to expose a diverse audience to a spectrum of poetic voices, build an appreciation and an audience for poetry, and increase poetry’s presence on the Web and TV. The partners hope poetry will become a permanent part of the PBS landscape, offering moments of meditation and even revelation throughout the day.  We’re doing our part by sharing Poetry Everywhere with you.

You can read more from and about the poets featured on this site by visiting the Poetry Foundation Web site.
