You may be familiar with Salman Khan and his nonprofit Khan Academy, with its mission to make the highest quality education free to people anywhere in the world. In his TED Talk Let’s use video to reinvent education, Khan discusses learning gaps that are inevitable with traditional, “one-size-fits-all” learning. His tutorials flip the classroom, whereby students view the lesson/lecture at home and teachers are free to facilitate one-on-one classroom learning with assessment tools that lead to fundamental growth. At the end of Salmon’s talk and a long standing ovation, Bill Gates joins him on stage for a Q & A session that you may want to see.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on this or another TED talk and on the concept of the flipped classroom.
