This activity for grades 7-12 can prove a fine transition into the new school year given the many troubled places around our world that cause the United Nations to be on the nightly (and daily) news. The lesson provides students with a broad overview of the history, structure, and accomplishments of the United Nations. Students review an overview of the institution and develop brief presentations in a group activity following a set of discussion questions. Teachers resources include a UN Background Page and National Standards.
