You may remember Daniel Striped Tiger, the first puppet in Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood.  In the spirit of Fred Rogers, Daniel’s Striped Tiger’s son, Daniel Tiger, came to Springfield on Saturday, August 23, to join in the Springfield Public School’s 7th Annual Back to School Celebration at Blunt Park.  Star of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Daniel was also celebrating the arrival of his new baby sister, Margaret, as well as all new episodes of this gentle PBS KIDS program for preK-K children.  The Back to School Celebration event provides families with activities and lunch and distributes thousands of backpacks as students approach a new school year.  When visiting WGBY’s tables and tents, children met Daniel and spun a prize wheel that included chances to win the book Daniel Goes to School.  Parents could also learn about the many PBS KIDS resources that support their children’s learning fun throughout the year .
