This video clip from the 2013 MAKERS series about the first woman to finish the Boston Marathon gives us an idea of what’s in store when WGBY begins airing new one-hour MAKERS documentary specials on September 30 at 9pm.  For six consecutive weeks we’ll see:   Women in Space, Women in Hollywood, Women in Comedy, Women in Business, Women in War, and Women in Politics.

The documentaries will also be featured on MAKERS.com and over 50 MAKERS in these respective categories will become part of the MAKERS video collection online.  In addition, a search of “woman” on PBS LearningMedia will take you to literally hundreds of resources — collections, videos, lesson plans and more.
