Teachers and students don’t have to wait for women’s history month in March to focus on the important role of women — past, present and future — as this MAKERS’ video clip with Gloria Steinem suggests. MAKERS, the largest collection of women’s stories, is a women’s leadership platform that encompasses broadcast documentaries, web and mobile-first video content, and live events. Currently the MAKERS website features a video of Steinem sharing her early years before and during The Woman’s Movement, something she says was ridiculed in its beginnings.
With PBS and strong partners who share historical content on PBS LearningMedia, you’ll find a wide range of resources for grades 2-12 on women’s history. (Remember that you can filter these results and search for specific grade level, content and resource type.)
