A palm tree in Alaska and a 14-foot fish in Kansas are just some of the clues to our continent’s epic past revealed on the new series of NOVA: Making of North America, starting at 9pm tonight on WGBY. As host Kirk Johnson, Sant Director of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History, tells us, “No landscape is permanent,” and his explorations show a land full of surprises as a result of its seismic changes.
