Women Past, Present and Future

MAKERS — a women’s leadership platform that features over 3,000 videos and the stories of more than 300 women — has a rich, recent history with PBS that includes the Emmy-nominated MAKERS documentary series highlighting the stories of women in 6 spheres of influence.

As 2016 nears, you can view MAKERS’ Women to Watch and perhaps add your own choices.

You can view the slideshow Women To Watch in 2016 as well as the 2013 three-hour PBS documentary MAKERS: Women Who Make America that told the story of the modern American women’s movement for the first time on television.  You can also see the stories of women in 6 spheres of influence — space, comedy, Hollywood, business, war, and politics from the 2014 MAKERS documentary series on PBS.

You’ll find lesson plans and other media resources on women’s rightswomen’s history and more by searching for your specific grade, content and resource type at PBS LearningMedia.

We’d also love to hear what you think of the MAKERS picks, your own pick(s) for 2016, and anything else you’d like to share about the resources in this post.
