WGBY recently published an interactive lesson, Diversity in Latino Culture, on PBS LearningMedia.  The standards-based lesson is designed to make students aware of the rich diversity found in Latino food, music and art, starting locally with video segments from WGBY’s bilingual, on-air program, Presencia.

As an interactive lesson, Diversity in Latino Culture can be completed individually, in small groups or even as a whole class.  And with its emphasis on culture and language, the lesson can serve social studies classes as well as Spanish ones.  Targeted at high school students, the lesson might also be used by capable middle-school students as determined by their teachers.
