School closings came with the loss of a very special learning experience: field trips. As things open back up, families may be looking for ways to make up for lost time. They may also be looking for ways to keep children engaged over summer break.
Virtual field trips from PBS can help. NOVA Education has uploaded a few different virtual field trips that may pique a variety of interests. One particular field trip is focused on a study done on Eagles. It is called Thinking on the fly: lessons from a bald eagle nest. This virtual field trip includes many pictures and detailed explanations that make it ideal for students in grades 3 and older.
Another eagle based virtual field trip called Eagle Power. Due to the hunting clips included, it is suggested that this video be viewed by students grades 5 and up.
For a third and last in this series virtual field trip from NOVA, you can also travel to Surviving (and Thriving) in a Polar Desert.
