At PBS LearningMedia such programming becomes powerful classroom resources that help to dispel myths and other prejudices, opening the way for an appreciation of our diverse populations.  For example, over thirty lesson plans based on the Asian American series allow students to explore ways that Asian Americans have influenced our nation’s history in significant ways. The collection includes personal stories behind the Chinese Exclusion Act, the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II, Southeast Asian refugees after the Vietnam War, Filipino American Farmworkers, the fight for civil rights and much more.
