NEPM is delighted to share that Arbely Mejia, formerly a PreK teacher at the YMCA of Greater Springfield and now at Springfield’s Brunton Elementary School, has been recognized as a PBS KIDS Early Learning Champion!
NEPM’s Education Department nominated Arbely to receive this two-year professional learning initiative for educators of young children because of her outstanding work during our 2017-2019 Summers of Fun & Learning and our 2020 Ready to Learn Family & Community workshops.
Arbely’s passion for teaching, dedication to students and families, and love of PBS KIDS resources made her a perfect candidate for this award. In November she will be celebrated along with ten other educators from across the country at an Awards Ceremony. In support of her professional growth, Arbely will also attend a PBS KIDS Early Learning Champions Summit to identify ways that she can partner with her peers, NEPM, PBS and other member stations.
You can find more about Arbely and other PBS Early Learning Champions from across the country at PBS Education and learn more about PBS KIDS Early Learning Champions in the national press release.
