Calling All Choirs for Season 3 of WGBY’s Together In Song

WGBY is pleased to announce a third season of Together In Song and share details on how you and your choral group might be able to be a part of the excitement and fun.

Musical Groups dedicated to the enjoyment of choral music, and who are based in Western New England (the WGBY service area of Western MA, Northern Connecticut, Southern Vermont and New Hampshire) are eligible for consideration.   Applicants should upload a 2-4 minute video clip of their ensemble to YouTube, MySpace, or Facebook.   Submissions on DVD will also be accepted.   The deadline for submission is November 21, 2012.   Choirs that participated in previous seasons may submit entries for Season III.

Choirs selected for participation in Together In Song will be brought into the WGBY Studios to have a performance taped to air on television.  For additional details, check out the Together In Song Call for Entries.  We’re looking forward to your submissions!!

WGBY TOGETHER IN SONG Finalists Announced

We would like to congratulate the semifinalists selected in each category for WGBY’s choral competition, Together in Song.  Judges scores were combined with online votes as a “6th judge” to create a total score for each group. The top choirs were selected in each category.  You might see one of your schools or community groups listed.

The Final Weekend of TOGETHER IN SONG performances

The final week of Together in Song choir performances is upon us.  You’re in for a real treat as we present two more episodes at 8 and 8:30pm, featuring ten fantastic new groups.  Here’s a sneak preview of Amherst Regional High School’s rendition of the “Overture to The Barber of Seville”:

Just as a reminder: your support for your favorite groups is an important component to the process of selecting semi-finalists.  You have a few ways to do so: visit the Together in Song website and “Like” your favorite group or post a comment on the group’s page.  Judges will consider all feedback when selecting the semi-finalists who will perform at the Together in Song Festival April 30th and May 1st.  Details about the Festival can be found on the WGBY website.

Last weekend, many of you may have watched our first set of choral groups sing their hearts out on our new local program, Together in Song

This Saturday, tune in at 8 and 8:30pm for a new set of talented performers.  This week you’ll hear from the following schools:

Many other community groups spanning from young children to adults will also be featured.  Groups will be reviewed by a panel of local judges.  However, comments and “Likes” on our website will help the judges detemine finalists for a live concert this spring.  Vote for your favorites by visiting the Together in Song website.
